Seahawks QB gets last laugh versus team that drafted him

Geno Smith got the last laugh in his first game as a starter versus the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Smith and the Seattle Seahawks beat the Jets 26-21 to improve to 7-5 on the season. The loss dropped the Jets to 3-9 and put them even closer to being eliminated from playoff contention.

After the victory, Smith took a subtle shot on social media in the form of a picture.

The Jets drafted Smith in the second round of 2013 NFL draft out of West Virginia. Smith had four down years in the Big Apple, posting 28 touchdowns and 36 interceptions with a 12-18 record as starter.

Smith has since revilatized his career in Seattle after becoming the full-time starter in 2022. He won NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2022 and has been invited to two Pro Bowls as the Seahawks’ starting QB. He entered Week 13 first in the NFC in completions and passing yards.
